Special Guest bartender and 2019 Rye On The Rocks winner Jake Chisholm from the Blue Moose in East Grand Forks will be behind the bar mixing up some of his mind-blowing original cocktail recipes, including the award winning Ryes of Roknar made with our rye whiskey, popcorn syrup reduction, demerara simple and lemon juice. Or try his take on an Old Fashioned with our Ålander spiced rum and rootbeer reduction syrup and cardamon bitters.

Bar Exam: Cocktails with a Cause

Join us for cocktails with a cause on Thursday, June20!

Legal Aid, in partnership with MinnPost and Far North Spirits, invite you to enjoy signature cocktails and appetizers as we examine how technology is being used to improve communication between first responders and people with disabilities.

Janee Harteau, President and CEO of Vitals Aware Services, will discuss how technology using signaling beacons and smart phone apps creates safer environments for individuals living with invisible or visible conditions and disabilities.

Daniel Stewart, Legal Director of Legal Aid's Minnesota Disability Law Center will provide brief remarks.

This fun and informative event will be held at the Food Building, which is an experience in and of itself. We hope you'll attend, partake and discuss!

Thanks to our sponsors, the $10 admission includes appetizers and drinks, including a seasonal cocktail designed for the evening by Far North Spirits.

The North Dakota Museum of Art has again teamed up with Far North Spirits, a field-to-glass distillery in Hallock, MN, for the Third Annual Rye on the Rocks. 

Rye on the Rocks is a craft cocktail contest held in the Museum’s galleries featuring Far North Spirits’ rye products. This year we spotlight FNS’ Roknar Rye Whiskey, a non-GMO AC Hazlet Winter Rye combined with Heirloom Corn planted and harvested by head distiller Michael Swanson.

Area bars and restaurants will vie for bragging rights with their original cocktails or classics with a twist. Guests sample each creation and vote in two categories. A panel of judges will award the evening’s top prize. Cash bar by Helix Wine & Bites. Appetizers by area restaurants included in ticket price. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

Once again you will be able to purchase art from This Week Only. The exhibition is open to artists from across the region­ who wish to participate. Artists set their prices. All work is for sale. Tables for eight are available as is valet parking.
